Immunotherapy or Allergy Shots
- In this treatment, patients are given injections every week of some or all of the allergens that cause their allergy problems. Gradually the injections get stronger and stronger. In most cases, the allergy problems get less and less over time
- Patients will be expected to stay in the office for 20 minutes after receiving injections to monitor for allergic reactions.
Allergy skin testing
- Allergy skin testing is the most commonly used method to determine the specific allergens causing recurrent allergic symptoms. The testing may be used to identify immediate allergic reaction to pollens, molds, pet dander, dust mites, foods and insects. We can test for up to 64 different allergens in one visit.
