Miguel J. Martinez Jr. MD completed his undergraduate education in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico and obtained his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He went on to complete further postdoctoral training, first an Internal Medicine residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by fellowships in Allergy and Immunology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., including training and certification in the care of pediatric and adult patients.
As a board-certified physician in Allergy & Immunology, with 31 years of experience, Dr. Martinez is passionate about caring for children and adults with allergies and asthma in South Texas. He works closely with his patients to understand their concerns and provide a comprehensive treatment plan that is tailored to the patient’s needs. By combining the most up to date treatments with patient education, Dr. Martinez provides compassionate care to his patients, aiming to provide relief of their symptoms and to obtain control of their allergies and asthma. He is fluent and English and Spanish.
After serving in the U.S. Army for 12 years, he transitioned to work in private practice. He has resided in San Antonio, Texas with his wife, Raquel, since 1993. When he is not taking care of patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, granddaughter and all the grand dogs. When time allows, he enjoys attending church, exercising, playing table tennis and chess, watching sports, and listening to music.
